The Benefits of Massage Therapy

As busy as our lives are, we can all benefit with some stress relief. Some of us carry chronic pain which detracts from the quality of our lives. Some want to improve athletic performance. Massage therapy helps you to relax, re-align and rejuvenate.

Massage helps to:

  • Control stress
  • Boost mental health and awareness
  • Improve sleep
  • Improve circulation
  • Improve physical fitness/mobility
  • Relieve back and neck pain
  • Relieve tension headaches
  • Lower blood pressure

Massage is good medicine!

Which Massage Style is right for you?

There are many different types of massage and this can be confusing.  In a nutshell, most therapists offer Swedish or deep tissue massage and price them differently. Some people prefer lighter strokes (like Swedish massage), which is generally less work for the therapist; while some enjoy deeper pressure, which is more work and usually the more expensive massage.

My massage borrows from various methods and styles.  I have one price for all therapeutic table massage methods and tailor the massage to the needs of the client on my table. I have worked on athletes, pregnancies, the elderly, and people with special medical concerns (including cancer patients).

I do not perform hot stone, cupping, or other spa techniques. I use manual massage and stretching methods with some heat applied if necessary.

Sometimes people may require more than one visit to correct a more complex muscular dysfunction. If I feel this is your case I will discuss it with you and together we can work out a plan.
